Good afternoon.
At its regularly scheduled meeting held on Monday, February 8, 2021, the Board of Education of Chicago Heights School District 170 approved a return to in-person instruction for all students beginning on Monday, March 8, 2021.
Attendance hours for buildings housing students in grades K – 5 will be 7:50 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.; attendance hours for the Chicago Heights Middle School will be 7:30 a.m. - 2:20 p.m. Students attending the Early Childhood Program will attend morning sessions from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. or afternoon sessions from 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The Board is awaiting the results from the parent survey before determining if the return to in-person instruction will be a five-days per week practice.
Depending on the survey's results, students may return to school on either a five-days a week in-school schedule or a two or three days a week in-school schedule.
Additional information concerning the return to school will be available later this month from your building principal.
Kind regards,
Tom Amadio
Superintendent
