Representatives of Chicago Heights Masons St. Rest Lodge #5 and the National Association of University Women recently visited Chicago Heights School District 170's Lincoln-Gavin School to provide winter coats to the students.
St. Rest Lodge #5 Warden Master Cornelius Deere, Senior Warden Michael Coleman, Junior Warden Mose Hope, Treasurer Jack Whetstone, and Secretary Robert Miller joined the National Association of University Women (NAUW), Chicago Branch's 2nd Vice President, Georgette Peoples, and Recording Secretary Drusilla Murray-Amos in helping school principal Cara Pastere to distribute the coats.
"This activity continues our lodge's commitment to helping out all the students at Lincoln-Gavin School by providing warm coats for the winter season," Deere said.
"The lodge is pleased to honor for the fifth consecutive year our pledge to do everything possible to help the students of our community in any way that we can."
"The National Association of University Women is pleased to join with the members of the St. Rest Lodge #5 in extending a helping hand to the children of the Lincoln-Gavin neighborhood," Peoples added.
Lincoln-Gavin Principal Cara Pastere once again praised the efforts of the givers.
"We are most grateful for the efforts of the Chicago Heights Masons St. Rest Lodge #5 and the National Association of University Women that benefit our students," she said.
"Whether providing academic supplies, coats, or monetary support, the organizations have been excellent partners for our school, our students, and our service community," she concluded.
