CHSD170's Kennedy School recently received $6,000 in gift cards from Office Depot's "depotdifference" program to support the school and its service community.
Since 2018, Office Depot has implemented "depotdifference" as a community investment initiative. The program supports Office Depot and Office Max communities through an employee-centric, hands-on approach that empowers schools and makes a difference through employee volunteerism and philanthropic giving.
Through the initiative, Office Depot / OfficeMax has helped deserving students obtain the supplies needed to start the new school year, feeling appreciated, confident, and prepared. In addition to the corporate commitment, Office Depot/OfficeMax customers also have the opportunity to donate at checkout to support the school of their choice.
"We are thrilled to have been selected as a beneficiary of the largesse of the "depotdifference" program," said Kennedy School Principal Artis McCann.
"We received $6,000 in gift cards to use to benefit our school and community, and I would like to thank Office Depot/OfficeMax's customers and staff, especially District Sales Manager Patrick O'Brian Jr., Business Development Manager Todd Morrissey, and Homewood Office Max Store Manager Libyan Henderson for their support of our school."
McCann and Kennedy School staff members Angela Jacobucci, Deonna Grant-Stinson, and Stephanie Robey recently visited an Office Depot store where they used the funds to purchase ten laptops, six tablets, paper shredders, and various school supplies.
“I am so grateful for the incredibly generous donation from Office Max/Office Depot,” Jacobucci said. “Their support for Kennedy School has provided a bright spot for staff and students as we navigate through this very challenging year.”
