Chicago Heights SD170 recently partnered with CINTAS to provide selected staff with CPR/AED and First Aid training.
Forty participants learned how to administer life-saving techniques during the school district’s Institute Day on November 2nd.
“The safety and wellbeing of all is of the utmost importance, and School District 170 is committed to preparing school staff for emergency situations,” said Dr. Maricela Clark, CHSD170’s Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
School and Central Office administrators, nurses, Kindergarten through 8th-grade physical education teachers, and coaches were among the participants who practiced with mannequins under the guidance of qualified trainers. The American Heart Association issued cards to all participants as proof of successful completion of training.
“The feedback received from participants was positive and reflective of the importance of this training in ensuring the best possible outcomes in case of an emergency,” Clark concluded.
